Above is a checklist that can be used to keep track in an easy way of important information about each school you are applying to. I’d be happy to email you a word or pdf of this if you would like!

Glossary of Terms for Graduate School Information Template

Institution Name: The name of the University you are applying to.

Cost of Tuition: The cost of annual attendance to the University.  Refer to the program’s specific tuition rate based on typical semester costs.  Take into account yearly cost increases.

Application fee: The fee required to send in your application.

Graduation Rate: The percentage of students who have entered the program and graduated as scheduled.

Job Placement: The percentage of graduated students who find job placement within one year after graduation.

Pass Rate of the National Exam: The percentage of students who pass the National Exam in Speech Pathology (NESP).

Average GPA of Accepted Students: A compilation of the GPA of accepted students from previous years, and the average is taken among all of them.

Average GRE Score of Accepted Students: A compilation of the GRE scores of accepted students from previous years, and the average is taken among all of them.

Program Size: The number of students accepted into the program each year.

Assistantship Available: Does the University provide an Assistantship (tuition waiver and/or paid work assignment) for first and/or second year graduate students?

Essay Required: Does the University require a generic or specific essay or statement of purpose?

Number of Recommendation Letters Required: The number of recommendation letters the University requires for admittance into the program.

CSDCAS Option: Does the University use CSDCAS as the primary method of application?

Deadline for Application: The deadline by which the University will no longer accept any more applications into the upcoming year’s program.
